Chapter 5 The Trial of the Flower Liches

 The surviving members of the party have escaped with Lil'ling, who is trapped in the body of the Flower Lich, Nightshade. Josh the monk heroically sacrificed himself in order for the party to escape. However, now they have to survive the city. When they have run until they are more than breathless, they dash into two poets drinking wine and singing merry songs. (The party get a good reaction throw.) The two ascetic poets look at the weird assortment of party members with happy laughs and then begin to sing a song. "The strawberry song: The snow, soft, and low / the forest like a garden / strawberries like blood / meet me by the gate, / well met, well met, Bagicha / at the garden's dusk / on this very night / with a breadth's full of flowers, / got my hint I guess?" (Flower Liches of the Dragonboat Festival, page 9.) Then these tow ascetics abruptly run away down the streets of the city. Chapter 4

 Since they had heard all of Nightshade's plan from the magic mouth, the party knows that Datura, another of the Flower Liches, is Nightshade's accomplice and is keeping Lil'ling in Nightshade's body with powerful domination spells.  They prepare to infuriate Datura's Gulistan, the Temple of the First Light of Dawn with only two days before the birthing of the demon lord. (I do not know exactly how much game time has passed so I am giving my party two days to give them time yet also tighten up the drama and give dramatic tension.) Shesha goes out to get directions to Datura's Gulistan, from the Flower Liches' priests of the small, mist-robed shrines built in the mountains erected for the memory of the Flower Liches. As he heads back, Shesha sees a dead, bloated body wash ashore by the river. However, the sight is normal to Shesha, who does not bother to investigate it. He heads back back to their base of operations, Tu Wang Ping's house. In said lodgings...

Chapter 3

Special thanks to Josh for providing the inspiration for the character of Josh the monk. Yet there is still the curious case of Lil'ling in Tu Wang Ping's proverbial pocket. The savage beating from the woman, which Tu Wang Ping only narrowly survived, is the reason she fell into the mess, literally fell from a cliff into the sea where she was recused by Pin Lung. Now it is time to figure out that puzzling case.  First, she must get her payment from Pin Lung for taking on the case of Pin Lung's missing daughter and for helping him in the Flower Liches' dragonboat race, which he gives her his winnings of 100 Gold Pennies. It is a pittance yet Tu Wang Ping takes it anyway. (She got only 200 Gold Pennies to endanger her very soul!) Tu Wang Ping needs to investigate the House of the Sound of White Jasmine, yet Lil'ling, or whatever hideous praying mantis Venus flytrap hiding inside a white jasmine flower feeling was, knows about her. Chapter 2: Grim Discoveries and Grim Vengeance

 They're in the dragonboat race now! Noon, the city goes silent and the shops close as the people gather on the riverbank, pushing and shouting into the crowd until they get a good view of the racing boats. The Flower Liches, all five of them, are gathered together on a copper-plated stand under silk canopies at the starting and ending point of the race; their thrones, which they reach with bamboo ladders, are some 30' off the ground. A gaunt veiled woman clad in a white bloodstained gauze dress, and surrounded by purple faerie fires stands with a a gorgeous, naked, gold-skinned androgynous athlete and 135 zombies in front of the canopy. From afar, the Flower Liches look like old ladies wrapped in silk and brocade upon which blood-soaked garlands of flowers have been heaped. When they move, a chill suffuses the air, and all the shadows of the city and its people grow taller. The undead in front of them look, well, like undead, ghosts and ghouls joining a zombie parade. First Post and first chapter. Chapter One

 Hello Everyone, This is a blog to show and archive my solo play sessions of the module, Flower Liches of the Dragon Boat Festival. Something that I have been doing since April 10, 2023, My God!
